While these aren't part of the awards proper, they're still games that someone on our team felt was worth celebrating. Also kicked out pretty much everything that has "mostly positive" and worse reviews.Alongside the awards, each writer has also picked a personal favourite for the year. I am all about action and engagement these days and I get bored/uninterested quickly if a game is too slow-paced. I kicked out pretty much every turn-based or board-game-style game because I already own too much of these and I rarely play them. Read good things about the DLC to flesh out variety even more and add quite some stuff to the game. They all look very good and I enjoyed my time with Dead Cells on Game Pass a few years ago. I already fear the difficulty of those rogue-likes, but I think all of them have some better kind of meta-progression, so I will get my enjoyment out of them I guess. Especially all those Age of Empires games will take me years to finish! But it's always great to have something I've always loved on the side to enjoy whenever I want with enough content to feel almost "endless".
